Hamish Watson gives talk to the Austrian Academy of Arts

Hamish Watson, CEO of Polysolar, gave a talk to leading architects in Vienna on the 21st of June at the prestigious Austrian Academy of Arts.  The event ,held in the historic centre of the Capital covered presentations of new innovative environmental building  technologies and Polysolar presented its transparent photovoltaic glazing to an excited audience of leading architects, engineers and designers.   This is the first event where Polysolar has presented its products to an audience in Eastern Europe.  Austria has recently introduced subsidies for BIPV solar installations.

Building Integrated Photovoltaics

Its been a busy week.  Polysolar have been talking at a number of conferences on how to build with photovoltaics.  Polysolar gave a key talk at the Solar UK conference in the City on utilising PV in the fabric of buildings and also discussing the impact of changes to the FIT (Government Feed in Tariff).  Hamish Watson, the CEO of Polysolar also had a meeting with Chris Huhme, Minister at DECC, where he discussed developments in renewable energy and issues on FITs.  Hamish was also talking at BSRIA in Bracknell on Solar Technologies and Polysolar's development in transparent PV glass.

Polysolar Hold Seminar for Architects

Polysolar held a invitational breakfast brainstorm seminar in December for leading architects and building engineers in Cambridge.  The brainstorm attracted leading industry players from across the region and from key London and international practices.  The transparent photovoltaic glazing attracted significant interest and excitement while also raising issues of how best to incorporate it into new and retrofit buildings.

HRH The Prince of Wales takes a keen interest in Polysolar's PV Modules

His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales expressed keen interest in Polysolar's world first solar greenhouse exhibited at START London in September.  Prince Charles look a special detour to see the new PV glazing modules and took away product details with an interest in installing them on commercial greenhouses on his estates.

Polysolar to Exhbit Transparent PV at Ecobuild Expo

Polysolar will be exhibiting its unique tinted transparent glazing modules at Interbuild in March at Excel in London.  The company is currently focused on developing a range of applications that incorporate its transparent photovoltaic modules in buildings.  These include balustrades, walkways, shelters, carports that can charge up the new generation of electric cars, as well as conservatories and facades.

With the incentive of Feed-in-Tariffs the market for building integrated PV applications its taking off.

Polysolar Modules Undergo Testing

Polysolar currently has its innovative thin film solar modules undergoing performance testing at Sheffield Solar Farm, at the University of Sheffield.  This independent test facility is comparing a range of different solar PV technologies for the UK climate.  Polysolar is also having its transparent and opaque modules demonstrated to see how they perform in low light levels and at different angles and inclination to the sun.

Polysolar has launched a new solar bike light which is now available in the UK.  This everlasting bike light means you never need to worry about not having a working rear bike light.  Powered by solar photovoltaics it recharges during the day and last for up to 8 hours on a 2 hour charge.
